Both of the Pesky neighbors tested positive for COVID yesterday. Both are on Paxlovid. Carl had symptoms first but nothing horrific. Not saying he didn’t feel bad — he’s sleeping a lot, has a sore throat and is slower than normal — but his illness is manageable.
Mom, on the other hand, is really sick. I’m worried about her, of course. The pharmacist said it takes 1 to 2 days to start to feel better after starting Paxlovid, and both of them had their first dose last night.
I’m neg neg negative and so is Perry.
Being negative today doesn’t mean we’ll stay that way, but I sure hope we do.
We notified everyone that we knew Mom had been in contact with. On Monday before she had any symptoms, she met with her “old ladies” group. None of them can afford to get sick either. Still, letting them know as soon as we found out gives them the opportunity to decide who they want to be around.
Perry & I spent 3 flipping hours getting prescriptions filled.
The Pesky neighbors use Walmart as their pharmacy. Because of Mom’s age and health issues, she had to have a different type of Paxlovid that Walmart didn’t have. The pharmacist there called CVS who took over an hour to slap a sticker on a box and put it in a bag.
On the bright side, the delay allowed me to snag a photo on the way home of a beautiful night sky.
COVID is still around and it still sucks.
Be careful out there.
Now you know: A sheepdog named Casper fought for over 30 minutes against 11 coyotes who were threatening his flock, killed 8 of them, and survived with a severe neck wound and a missing tail.
