That was the subject line from the email I received from Yankee Candle just yesterday. Years ago, this biannual sale was great… prices were genuinely marked down and I’d snatch several candles and wax tarts for Christmas gifts and for myself.
Does this change your opinion of the company?
Last month, I ordered a few candles from Yankee online — the price for each one was $15.50. I clicked the link in my recent and oh, so exclusive email and found that all Yankee did was jack up the price to deceive me — and you… and everyone. On the left is Walmart’s online offering — on the right is what Yankee is offering me because I’m family or a friend. Walmart also gives $1 off as Walmart cash. You do the math.
When companies — or friends… or family members — try to trick me I don’t appreciate it. It’s no different than lying, really. Is it?
Winter wheat is growing!
The winter wheat Rex planted after harvesting soybeans is coming up nicely — even though it’s freezing outside.
Both Merida and a Dharma love the cooler temps. I’d think it would make Dharma’s old joints ache, but she seems perkier the colder it gets.
Now you know: Wisconsin produces more cheese than Italy.
