escape, danger, and a frantic search

Jun 6, 2024

Scott’s little dog, 10-year old Lucy, escaped their home in Fort Wayne at about 11:00 PM and jetted away before she could be caught. Heartsick, he posted a photo of her on Facebook with pleas for help. He mentioned she wouldn’t bite, but she would run.

His post was shared 108 times!

But then there was hope…

The following morning, Fort Wayne Animal Control posted a photo that appeared to be Lucy. Scott and family had to wait 3 hours before the facility opened to find out for sure. If Lucy, she crossed two busy multi-lane streets and traveled about 2 miles in the city.

Lucy on the run.

And then there’s Henry — the neighbor of my pesky neighbors.

Henry travels to town so often that the majority of the community know him by name. He trots down and across US 31 and annoys other pet owners in the Ville. No one really cares; no one actively searches for him; and nothing changes to prevent him from doggie dangers. The only Facebook posts you’ll find about Henry are those wanting his owner to pick him up.

Both cases of doggie escape are sad for different reasons and only one has happy ending…

Lucy was the dog turned in to Animal Control and is home safe and sound. She’s pissed that her adventure is over. That’s the good news.

Lucy's adventure is over.

The bad news is that Henry is still able to go exploring and remains at great risk of one day never getting back home. 🙁

Now you know: A Tudor warrant book was discovered by an archivist in 2020. It includes instructions from Henry VIII explaining precisely how he wanted his second wife, Anne Boleyn, to be executed. It shows his “premeditated, calculating manner”. He knows exactly how and where he wants it to happen.
