My fingers REALLY want to type about my thoughts on current events — especially the opening ceremony of the Olympics — but my brain won the debate. So instead, I’m shifting to night photography… comparing the iPhone to a Samsung Ultra.
Summer night bonfire.
It was a perfect night for a bonfire! We invited those Pesky Neighbors over for s’mores and that progressed to roasting hotdogs and the addition of a non-pesky neighbor.
I took a photo with my trusty Android phone because many reviews say its nighttime capabilities are superior to that of an iPhone.

One look at the horrible quality of the Android’s photo above, I wondered if the iPhone could do better. I think it did…

Phone camera night photos often turn out poorly.
Smaller sensors, apertures, and lenses, simply limit the phone’s capabilities to create great low-light images. Phone cameras are improving, but they still face inherent limitations.
Take photos anyway!!
Even poor quality images record memories better than no images at all…

Now you know: The town of Codell, Kansas, was hit by tornadoes on the same day, (May 20th), for 3 consecutive years.
