Influence 2024 is an event for members of the National Speakers Association (NSA), and their big award ceremony was last night.
The Cavett Award is the National Speakers Association’s most cherished award.
It is presented annually to the member whose accomplishments over the years have reflected outstanding credit, respect, honor and admiration in the Association and in the speaking profession, and whose actions most closely parallel the illustrious career of NSA’s Founder Cavett Robert, CSP, CPAE.

Scott had already been recognized as CSP (a designation conferred by the National Speakers Association only on those speakers who have earned it by meeting strict qualifying criteria) and CPAE® (the Speaker Hall of Fame) in previous years.
But never the Cavett.
Until last night…
Receiving the Cavett award meant the world to him, so it makes me incredibly happy. 😊
And this text message, received at 4:23 AM, is making me reconsider this practice retirement gig:
“Huge surprise and incredible honor. Thank you!! I am so grateful for your love and support. This would not have happened without all that you have made possible over the years.“
Now you know: In 1719, prisoners in Paris were granted freedom on the condition that they marry a prostitute and relocate to Louisiana.
