I started my day yesterday with a rake and advanced to carrying a jug of weed killer. By 10:00 AM, I figured I’d had enough… especially after the mulch job from the day before.
But then, I noticed dog hair floating around inside the house and knew vacuuming would be useless without first giving Dharma a good brushing and a bath. I bathed Merida first — her hair is short and her undercoat is non-existent. She was done and dried in no time flat.
Dharma has a dense, heavy undercoat.
Giving Dharma a bath is rough! It takes a good 10-minutes of full blast hose to get to her skin. What makes the process even worse is that she wants to bite the water during the soaking and rinsing process. It’s a dance… her circling around trying to attack the water flow and me trying to aim it toward her body. It’s a back-breaking chore!
Dog grooming is a physically demanding job!
I’m grateful I don’t groom dogs for a living. Working in positions where you’re bending over and reaching for hours upon end, day after day, doesn’t sound like anything I would’ve wanted to do at 25 years-old… now, it’s simply a grueling task that I hate.
Now you know: The average Pet Groomer salary in Indiana is $36,702 as of June 27, 2024.
