Many, many moons ago, high-waisted jeans were in style. I wore my share of them. I was all about the bellbottoms because that’s what it took to be cool in school — and I continued to wear them when they were still popular the following decade.
The decade after that, they were termed “mom jeans” and I was done. Around that same time, my momma let me know that high-waisted pants were in style in the 50’s and into the 60’s too. She embraced the style on both go arounds.
Why is it that fashion trends repeat about every 20-years or so? Can’t we think of something new and refreshing?
They’re popular again and I don’t get it!
Those darned things are in style AGAIN and I’m not repeating that fashion. Now called “high-rise” jeans, they’re currently in a popularity contest with low-rise jeans. I’m rooting BIG TIME for low-rise. My Mom, on the other hand, is sporting them again and is officially cooler than I am.
For the record, there are a whole lot of bodies that are not flattered wearing jeans that don’t stop until their belly button says to. I find them uncomfortable. As long as low-rise aren’t considered “grandma jeans,” I’m wearing them. 🙂
What’s something popular that you just don’t get?
Now you know: Due to a disfunction of the ABCCII gene, the majority of Asians have significantly less body odor than other populations.
