Watching the weather updates as Milton heads toward Florida, I worry about those people who are going to “ride out” the hurricane. I worry that some can’t afford to leave; I worry about those who don’t have family or friends to help; and I worry that adult decisions made now may impact so many others later.
Please go — and take your pets!
I worry about all the pets in Milton’s path. My two dogs depend upon me to make decisions for them — and I would never leave them to drown in flood waters. EVER! When we have tornado warnings, they go to the bathtub with me. If I had a shelter or basement, that’s where they would be… with me.
Of course, there have been MANY times we’ve taken a trip to the bathtub for nothing but a bit of wind and rain. Still, I keep hauling them in there with me.
Stay safe, Florida!
And if you’re being told to evacuate… please just go.
