Poor Dharma girl has believed that floors without carpet are lava for several years now. She is especially afraid to go down the one small step to get into the fenced in yard. We have no idea if her challenge is because of arthritic joints, poor eyesight, or just anxiety in general, but we’ve not found a way to desensitize the situation.
We need a new plan.
For almost 2 years, we’ve put a leash on Dharma to get her down those steps every single time she goes outside to do her business. Through rain, sleet, snow, and dark of night… we’re out there praising her for being led down 1 tiny step. Now, even that doesn’t always work.
This morning, when it was 18° freaking degrees outside and still dark, I poured hot water on the steps to ensure they weren’t slick right before leading her out to pee. That wasn’t good enough.
There are only 2 things left to try that I can think of:
(1) make a path of rose petals
(2) cut a piece of carpet for the step and one for the end of the sidewalk
Regular senior vet appointment incoming…
The ole’ girl has a vet appointment tomorrow morning and I have no clue how I’m going to get her into my vehicle — or out of it — to get her there and back home.
Now you know: In 2020, Pakistan International Airlines was banned from flying in Europe and the United States after an investigation found that at least a fourth of all pilots’ licenses issued in Pakistan were not genuine.
