Reuters: “Donald Trump will be sworn in as US president today. The ceremony completes a triumphant comeback after surviving two impeachment trials, a felony conviction, two assassination attempts and an indictment for attempting to overturn his 2020 election loss.”
- Hope reflects your desire for a positive outcome or a belief in the possibility of success.
- Fear reflects your concern about the potential of negative consequences.
5 things I’m 100% sure of on this inauguration day…
- Melania looks amazing! At 54 years-old, I’m not sure how she can wear those spiked heels, but her choice of what to wear today couldn’t have been any better.
- Jill Biden looks good too. Not a huge fan of the blue and purple she chose, but for 73 years-old, she’s got it going on.
- I thought Hillary even looked nice in her total dark-colored outfit (black? dark purple? dark blue?).
- It’s human nature to change your mind. Biden Justice Department tells court an acceptance of pardon is “a confession of guilt.”
- December, 2020. Jake Tapper asks President-elect Biden about the rumor that Trump may issue some preemptive pardons before leaving office. Biden: “You’re not going to see me do that.“
- Adam Kinzinger: “The only reason to ask for a pardon is because you think you committed a crime.” Pardoned by Joe Biden on the eve of the inauguration.
- Biden came into office claiming Hunter’s laptop didn’t exist. He’s leaving office giving him a pardon for everything that was on it.
- I couldn’t smile and partake of tea with haters. After Biden’s preemptive pardons, last minute attempts to thwart Trump’s agenda, and more — and Trump’s comments about Joe’s mental health and Hunter and his set of challenges, the recent video on Trump’s social media accounts on “White House Senior Living — where residents feel like presidents,” and more — they’ll be having tea together at the White House today. My tea sharing would look exactly like this…

5. It’s cold in Washington, and it’s cold here in my slice of the world. It was a whopping 3 degrees when I got up this morning, and it’s 23 degrees in Washington right now.

Both hope and fear coexist in me, so yes, it’s definitely possible to feel both simultaneously.
If you’re not hoping for Trump to have a successful 4 year term, your focus is in the wrong place. If you’re not fearful of the unknown, you’re not in the majority of Americans.
