rain thwarts mowing plans and disperses dandelions

Apr 21, 2025

I had plans to mow today even though it’s only been 4 days since the last time I did it. At the Seymour house that I deserted a couple years ago, it was important to spray for those things and fertilize the right stuff. Here in rural Indiana that hasn’t happened, so dandelions sprout up 10″ overnight.

At least my view from the front door is improving — not one of the yellow things or even the tall stalks with fluff on top is visible from there.

Bushes in full bloom.

The bushes planted by the previous owners of the barndo sure are beautiful, but they are bee magnets. It might’ve been better to have these a little further from where humans spend a lot of time. Currently, it’s a danger zone… but it sure smells pretty out there. 🌸
