have a bad back? don’t use a weed whacker

When dealing with a bad back, certain actions can worsen the pain or delay recovery. No matter if it’s a bad back or some other challenge our body is facing, we will often push through those activities we know will cause strain. Although I am fully aware there are certain undertakings that intensify my back pain, I typically tough it out and ignore my brain and body. I do it anyway, because someone has to do it.

Sure, there are things I can’t do as well as I did them 30 years ago — but there are also some things I must admit I have to leave to someone else. Weedeating is one of those things. The twisting while holding a long tool away from my body always results in me walking around like I’m 100 years-old by evening. Still, it’s one of the things on my to-do list for today. ARG!

How are you spending your holiday weekend?

There’s a vast difference in the way I’m spending my weekend and the way my favorite brother and sister-in-law are spending theirs. They are in Hawaii — currently on the big island after spending the first week in Maui…

And I’m spending my weekend in rural Indiana…

Thing is — we’re both relaxing in our most favorite places on the planet. 🙂
