Next week, it’s forecast for our area to have 115° heat index on multiple days. The rest of this week and weekend, we’re getting more rain on top of the mass amount of rain we’ve already gotten. The grass is growing like crazy, and we still have a good portion of yard that’s still too wet to mow.

Mowing what I could before the sky opened up…
I started by weed-eating everything here except the driveways and ditches. It’s probably 10 miles of weed whacking — at least that’s what it feels like. Next, I put on my rubber gloves and picked up all the dog poop and readied the push mower to conquer that area. After a short delay, because Dharma decided to walk directly in front of the mower to drop a fresh grumpy (she did it on purpose — I’m sure of that!), the dog part was mowed.
As I was blowing the grass off the sidewalk, the rain started — and not long after that, our electric went out 3 times. The rain lasted for hours and the pool is about to overflow. There will be no relaxing on the deck for a few days.

By the time it’s dry enough to mow the rest of the yard, the temps will be in their ‘melt your face off’ phase.
My Momma and I are hanging in there…
Mr. Pesky is still struggling with back challenges and Perry’s neck has flared up on him. It’s a good thing Mom and I are Rambo trained — there are a lot of balls we have to keep in the air around here. 😉

Now you know: Of the 1,213 warships involved in D-Day, 892 were British & just 200 were American. Of the 4,126 landing craft involved, 3,261 were British & 805 were American. In addition, two-thirds of the 12,000 aircraft involved in D-Day were also British.
