Perry worked on the yard outside yesterday while I worked on the inside. He mowed and weed whacked while I swept, mopped, and washed every Ruggable rug in the barndo. We finished up about the same time.

I wonder if we’re both working too hard because…
Me: Have you ever had a really crazy-stupid song pop into your head — one you haven’t heard for YEARS — and it’s on repeat in your brain?
Him: Yes, I have.
Me: Out of the blue, I noticed that I’m singing the Beverly Hillbillies theme song over and over. I haven’t even heard that for 40 years.
Him: **Starts singing offkey** Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale. A tale of a fateful trip.
And then, HIS song was stuck in my head. 🙁
Sitting on the deck waiting on the dogs to be ready to go back inside — in the 90° heat — this beautiful butterfly came to visit.

I know we don’t have a whole lot of summer days left. School starting is a big reminder of that.
Colette is a Freshman this year and that just doesn’t seem possible. Of course, it also makes me feel older than dirt. I hope she has a fabulous year at her new school, and still takes time to enjoy the afternoons and weekends before summertime is gone until next year.
