strive to be more like Hugo

Sep 11, 2025

After my depressing post yesterday about feeling awful for others and helpless to “fix” anything — I wanted to switch gears today.

Although I’m incredibly sad over the assassination of Charlie Kirk (and angry at those celebrating his death) — and the Colorado school shooting that also happened yesterday — it’s probably best if I save those thoughts. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to share without being ugly.

Soooo….

Focus shift: be happy for others’ good times. 🙂

Katie & Jerilyn are on a cruise this week. It’s the Carnival Bahamas excursion that I’ve been on 100 times — it’s relaxing, but there’s still plenty to do — and cruises are a cheap get-away.

Remember when I posted about the fat chicks all cutting their hair to have bangs? As a refresher… I did it and no one else followed through… until now. Peep Katie’s new fringe, y’all.

Hugo’s got the right idea…

Sometimes, you have to stop to smell the flowers — even when what you’re smelling is actually a plant without a lovely fragrance.

Dogs have more fun! Week #38

And finally, I’m feeling great about peanut butter and chocolate.

This week’s Walmart order had a gift bag included. Inside were items prompting orders of new product — but one was particularly interesting. It was a sample of Jif peanut butter and chocolate. Similar to Nutella but with milk chocolate instead of hazelnut, it’s already on my list for next week. Yummy!

Now you know: In 2014, a 27-year-old man fell asleep in a hammock while camping in Kentucky. In the morning, his friends saw him get up & sleepwalk off a 60-foot cliff. However, a rhododendron bush actually broke his fall, therefore he had no life-threatening injuries. He didn’t even know he was a sleepwalker.
