Hugo was close to death when he found me. Starving to the point of being barely able to walk, he inhaled 2 cans of dog food faster than a fat kid on a Snickers bar. Now, he is the quirkiest living being I know — especially when it comes to eating.
My life’s biggest time sink.
Feeding time for my hounds takes forever! And, it’s solely Hugo’s fault.

Hugo stopped eating dry dog food. So next, I began adding shredded cheese, then cottage cheese, and then canned food. All of those things worked for a few weeks but now they don’t. We went from a metal dog bowl to a glass one, and that also worked… for a few weeks… and then I started the different toppings all over again.
I have to watch Merida or she’ll devour her food quickly and have her head in Dharma’s bowl eating what’s left in there. Dharma’s food has 3 pills in it so I’m required to stand guard. Crazy, but neither dog will touch Hugo’s bowl of food… even when he refuses to eat it.
Today, we’re having dry food in a paper bowl.

Tomorrow, filet mignon is on Hugo’s menu with mushroom risotto, truffle butter sauce, and petit herbs. Funny how that’s MY favorite meal on planet earth too. 😉
Now you know: Americans eat about 350 slices of pizza per second.
