Those pesky neighbors are as handy as a pocket on a shirt. They were out bugging around and my Momma picked out a couple hanging baskets for me. The flowers are beautiful! (Les fleurs sont belles!)
Hugo isn’t a fan. He barked at them for an hour after I hung them up. If he could’ve just gotten to them, he would’ve shown them who is boss around here. 😉

I’ve been painting doors.
Not quite halfway done with the doors that require painting, I am making progress…

Four coats are required to cover the white. FOUR! When I finished the first coat and it was all streaked, I thought I’d made a horrible mistake. By the time I finished the final coat, I was happy but dreading the painting I still have ahead of me.
We’re in the “mow 10 times a week” stage of spring.
The grass this time of year grows so fast we can barely keep up. So as the doors wait for facelifts, I’m about to jump on the mower and give the yard yet another haircut.
Now you know: Purple is mostly non-existent in flags due to the historically high cost of purple dyes. While modern purple is synthetic and cheaply produced, historical purple was sourced from sea snails in the Mediterranean. 1lb of purple dye was valued at roughly $56,000 in today’s currency.
