am i the only one sick and tired of apps and devices requiring stuff i don’t want?

To begin… I am not gay. I don’t care if you are. Having said that, I don’t want gay pride iPhone wallpaper! I hate that it’s packaged in with the latest apple update and you can’t opt out of it. For the record, Google/Android doesn’t do that.

I’m filling out feedback forms like it’s my job… and Dharma is voicing her opinion in other ways.

Dharma voicing her opinion.

Feedback is a waste of time. Apple responded to mine entitled, “Please consider viewpoint neutrality” with the following: “We reviewed your report and determined the behavior you experienced is currently functioning as intended.”

If a device requires something to work safely and properly, it should be viewpoint neutral.

I don’t have a problem with gay pride wallpaper… and I wouldn’t have a problem with straight pride wallpaper either (like THAT would ever be a thing!). My problem is having one choice forced upon me.

I’m also fine with every single app and device on the planet incorporating AI into their product/service. What I’m NOT fine with is programming that keeps it in my freaking face constantly.

I’m not just leaving feedback, I’m unsubscribing when I can.

Merida is unsubscribing.

I’m married to my iPhone for another year and 1/2 before an upgrade. I have a spare Android phone (with phone number I hate) that I’m tempted to use just so I’m not freaking pissed off all the time.

And Evernote that I’ve paid for yearly for over a decade? Done! It’s a productivity app for note-taking, task management, and organizing all sorts of digital information (even recipes). It’s now ate up with AI. The big pop-up “let AI name your recipe” plastered over where I want to READ the recipe — you know, the big pop-up that you can NOT make go away — pushed me right over the top. I’m done.

Stop messing with my stuff! 🤬

Photoshop’s update defaulted to the workspace THEY want me to use. Even the latest WordPress update requires me to change my admin shit back to what I had and prefer… get your bright blue contrast crap outta my face. And while you’re at it, gimme my old, bigger font back too. The new block layout is simply too small for my ancient eyeballs.

Is it just me? Or are you frustrated with the same things I am?

Now you know: Congress refused to support the preservation of George Washington’s Virginia estate or buy it as a historical site in 1853 when it fell into disrepair. The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association bought and restored the now iconic home, becoming the first nationwide women’s organization
