It started raining overnight. I heard it begin. And… it’s rained off an on so far today with more in the forecast. I haven’t checked the rain gauge yet, but measuring by the almost overflowing pool, we’ve gotten more than a couple inches of rain already.
Cloudy skies and rain contribute a big fat zero to warming up the pool swimming temperatures. But if what I’ve heard about the weather next week is true — sunny days with “feels like” temps at 105° — we might just be glad for the cooler water.

If you share your home with dogs, spotless floors are more of a suggestion than a reality. Around here, every rainy day turns into an art exhibition featuring muddy paw prints stretching from one end of the house to the other. While most people see a mess, I’m convinced my dogs see a blank canvas just waiting for their latest masterpiece.
Sure, I could mop the floors every hour, but then I’d miss out on witnessing their creative process. Besides, every muddy trail is proof of another adventure outside, another squirrel investigated, and another happy dog living its very best life. That’s a gallery worth cleaning up after.
