That annoying redbird from spring that continuously pecked at the storm door window? Welp, he’s back. It’s beyond annoying! Not only because it drives the dogs crazy, but also because the security camera keeps telling me “my pet” is at the front door.
Fall is getting fallier. 🙂

While there are still plenty of green leaves left, we are seeing some yellows, oranges, and reds here in southern Indiana.
Not only do I love the comfortable temps but the hounds are enjoying the weather, as well. The requests to go outside have increased by around 110%… even from Dharma.

Come to find out, the in and out requests weren’t just about the gorgeous fall weather.
Perry was at a conference for work leaving me to all the household chores. Mr. Pesky took care of dragging the trash can to the road for pickup, but that still left plenty to do.
I thought the dogs were being extra demanding about outside time because things were different with Perry gone. That’s until I saw the huddle around something out there that looked like a critter from my spot at the door.
I grabbed a pair of rubber gloves at daybreak (yes, daybreak!) and trudged over to the interesting object, knowing it wasn’t going to be a fun task.
It was a dead rabbit.
I picked up the deceased critter and gave it a toss into the edge of the woods — all the while thinking how great rural living is with hounds. 😉
Now you know: Wild rabbits usually stop having babies by the end of September because cold weather (November through February) and scarce food make raising a litter too difficult
