4 things to know about planning a Disney World trip

Mar 25, 2019

I could’ve made this “100 things” instead… but figured 4 is enough for one post.

  1. Plan your trip during the least busy times.
    1. Especially don’t go during spring break. The place is PACKED. Like… 2 hours in line for a slice of pizza — and no fast passes available for any of the rides you want to go on. We waited 210 minutes in line for one ride.
    2. And especially don’t go during the Christmas/New Year holiday. Again, it’s so busy the park is often at capacity and people are denied access at certain times of the day. Yes, I did that once too.
    3. September is good but it’s still pretty hot… we’re shooting for February next year.
  2. Plan your trip early.
    1. Booking a room on the Disney property can be difficult if you ignore #1 above. The ONLY rooms left for us were pirate rooms about 300 miles from the place to get coffee and eat.
    2. Also, make sure you book fast passes and reserve dining early too.
  3. Get park hopper tickets.
    1. It’s our experience that taking a break and heading back to your room during the middle of the day is best. Lines are shorter in the mornings and at night. Park hopper tickets allow you to visit the princesses in the morning and eat at Nine Dragons in Epcot that evening.
  4. Wear comfortable shoes.
    1. Expect to walk… LOTS and LOTS. If you wear great shoes you don’t have to borrow your Mom’s pink flip flops.
  5. BONUS : Expect the unexpected when you get home.
    1. I’ll tell you all about THAT tomorrow. It’s been one rough day. 🙁
Expect to walk... a LOT
