(CNN) — As the family of Caylee Anthony prepares to finally lay her to rest, her grandmother announced plans to establish a charitable foundation to honor the memory of the slain Florida toddler. Caylee ‘now has her angel wings’ – CNN.com.
I’ve followed this case pretty much since the first news of it came out. I don’t know if my obsession has anything to do with what happened in the burg a few years back, or if it’s just that whenever a child’s life has been snuffed out, it’s so unfathomable that I want to see some form of justice. No matter the reason, this whole thing leaves me shaking my head.
The guilt or innocence of Calyee’s accused murderer, her mother, Casey, is not the reason for this post. The thoughts I put forth to you are in reference to grandmother, Cindy Anthony’s plans to establish a charitable foundation.
Thinking back to a time not so long ago when a child of the burg was murdered, Katie, I also remember a charitable foundation being established. I remember the fuss, the talk, and the many people that gave money selflessly — not even knowing what would become of their heartfelt donations. I vividly remember how some of the funds were raised, (MasterSbilt Race Car’s Race Against Drugs, to name only one), and I remember hearing how some of the funds were dispersed. The whole thing left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Now comes Cindy Anthony — the mother to the accused killer of her granddaughter. I’m not unsympathetic to what she’s going through; I simply think that she has as much business starting a charitable foundation as if I were to attempt to be the Pope. She has time for this? I mean, she’s busy sorting through photos of her dead granddaughter so her daughter can auction them to the highest bidder to pay for her defense! ::rolls eyes::
Cindy Anthony says that the charity will be called the Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation, and its mission will be to draw attention to cases involving missing children. Yet, Cindy curses the media and blames them for pretty much everything. I don’t get it!
There are a lot of good people left in the world today — proof will be in the funds that are received from those who trust in the goodness of others.
