I met Gracie last month on the wine tasting extravaganza. When I saw her, I’m pretty sure I was pretty sober — and I liked her right away. Gracie had a good Mom, but she wasn’t a family member or even a pet. Her sole purpose was to produce puppies — the much sought after golden doodles. Gracie wasn’t cooperative in that regard; therefore, her Mom needed to replace her. She needed to find her a new home.
Gracie has now ridden in a car without the vet being her final destination, has had a bath in a hot tub, has taken a walk on a leash, and has slept in a bed. She is beginning to bond with her new sister, Libby, and likes to nap on the couch. She’s scared of EVERYTHING. Even Ben & Amber’s chihuahua, Wanwan.
Wanwan is a tiny dog with a big message. Her self-image doesn’t jive with the facts. Gracie is a big dog, with a negative self-image who lacks confidence to even get a drink of water without coaxing. Her self-image doesn’t jive with the facts either. Libby doesn’t care about self-image. She cares about chicken. Here’s hoping that it won’t be long before I can share a photo where they are all close enough together to get in one frame.
