because it’s comfortable

Sep 12, 2009

Do you ever think about how many things you’re missing out on because you’re stuck in a place that’s merely comfortable? Change is scary — no doubt about it. But if you don’t set yourself up for a possible let down, you’re not setting yourself up for exciting new opportunities either.

Now maybe you’re satisfied with comfortable, and that’s ok. Some people are good with that — like my Grandmother that recently passed away. She WANTED to build her life around her grandchildren and great grandson; she didn’t WANT to travel and experience new things; she LOVED the fact that she lived her entire life (98 1/2 years!) just yards from where she was born and where her father died. If she were here today, she would tell you that she’d crossed off every single item on her ‘bucket list’.

So no matter where you are in your life, it’s all good so long as you’re comfortable being comfortable — or you know that change can be awesome — but isn’t always.
