awesome finds

Dec 29, 2009

Christmas 2009 is a memory and year-end is rapidly approaching. I’ve been absent from posting I know — I waited until the last possible moment to go shopping, and then got sick. To make up for neglecting the BLOG, I’m going to share a few short recommendations that don’t fit together whatsoever. You’re welcome.

Product Review:
The photos included are of a candle vase that I found at the Greentree Mall. The little shop is only open throughout the holiday season, and I was skeptical at first, I’ll admit. I ended up walking out with 2 of their unique items and 4 candles. Their candles are in a plastic cup type thing that you peel off like a banana and smell amazing — and I was told the small yankee jar will fit inside as well. You can buy these online! Sorry VaseCandle people, your website sucks out loud — but your products are very cool.

News Flash:
Next, another reason to purchase Scott McKain’s latest book, Collapse of Distinction! Get this! Highly esteemed reviewer, Richard Pachter, of the “Miami Herald” (and national syndication) named Collapse of Distinction as one of the ten “Best Business Books of 2009!” Woot! I’m excited and extremely proud.

Book Review and Suggested Download:
And…if you don’t have your own personal Amazon Kindle, you can (for free) download a PC version. If you check out Amazon.com’s most popular list of Kindle books, you’ll likely find some freebies you might just find interesting. It’s a good idea to check back often, because the free books that I’ve found have reverted back to $9.99 the next time I checked. “By Reason of Insanity” by Randy Singer, is one such book. I seriously enjoyed reading it — and it was FREE! The good news here is that even if you’ve added the book to your Kindle, you can also send it to your PC for reading when you’re stuck in your work station anyway.

Movie Review:
And finally, do not watch “All About Steve.” I’ve always liked Sandra Bullock, and I caught myself more than once during the movie wondering if she was embarrassed as she watched the flick. A fleeting funny and slightly touching moment was the highlight of this movie — quite possibly one of the worst I’ve ever watched from start to finish. Don’t waste your time on this one.

Don’t stop now!! Continue to enjoy this wonderful holiday season!
