a walk down my county road

Sep 19, 2024

When I lived in Seymour, I walked many evenings — sometimes with Katie and sometimes with one of my hounds. It was a great neighborhood and many others chose to walk there too. It was nothing to meet several people riding bikes and walking with strollers. My path took me around by the high school, so that simply wasn’t possible on football nights.

The view here sure is different!

The neighbors down the road walk some as a family, but other than them I’ve not seen anyone else walking for their health on this road besides Mr. Pesky and me. (I clarify “walking for health benefits” because on rare occasions I’ve seen a person or two walking to town.)

Never once in Seymour did I even SEE a garden… much less a gardener.

I understand if you’re more peopley than I am and enjoy living in the city. I’ll admit it’s more convenient for eating out and getting groceries. I’ll take those losses and still consider rural living a win.

I’m not the only one that loves this county road. 🙂
