are you a food mixer or separator?

For our fat chicks diet challenge, the 3 of us have a group text that we use to keep one another motivated. Truthfully, we simply whine about what we’re NOT eating or what we ARE eating that we shouldn’t be. Yesterday, Katie sent the photo below of her dinner…

Katie's dinner

She had Jackson County visitors at her Tennessee home for almost a week. Cheryl and Bobby visited with their grandkids, and with Katie working, Cheryl was in charge of meals. “Kid-friendly” foods often consist of selections higher in fat and calories, and are already cut into bite sized pieces when plated for consumption.

But what I REALLY noticed was…

All Katie’s food items are separate and not touching.

Katie will eat each food separately and save her favorite item to eat last. No food is allowed to touch any other food on her plate. Me? I mix shit together on my fork and believe some foods simply taste better when combined with something else. For example, baked beans deserve to be accompanied in the mouth by cottage cheese or slaw.

Perry is more like Katie than me — but he’s an inbetweener. While he eats only one food at a time, he doesn’t finish one off before starting another. I think the way the two of them eat is weird, and they think the way I mix food is gross.

So what about you? Are you a food mixer or separator?

Now you know: Ted Danson’s second wife suffered a stroke while giving birth to their first daughter, Kate. Ted spent several years caring for her and helping her recuperate. They later adopted a second daughter, Alexis. Then he had an affair with Whoopi Goldberg (yes, you read that right), that led to their divorce. At the time, it was known as one of Hollywood’s costliest divorces and reportedly cost Danson $30 million.
