it’s not cheating if the end goal is success

Oct 26, 2024

I’m still riding the fat chicks diet train and therefore, I notice pretty much everything that revolves around the quest to lose weight. I reached my WW goal and the app let me know all about it by congratulating me on reaching my peak!

I’m pretty sure autumn leaves are at their peak locally now too.

Because I was at goal, WW upgraded my daily food points so I had to bump it back 5 pounds to compensate for the 2 weeks left of our challenge. In the meantime, I’ve been seeing the WeGovy commercials that talk about weight loss and lowering your A1C (the measure of your average blood sugar level), but I had no clue how it differed… or was the same… as other drugs like Ozempic.

2 things I learned:

  1. Ozempic, Wegovy, Trulicity, Mounjaro, and Victoza are all injectable drugs that mimic a hormone (GPL-1) that makes you feel full and slows down digestion.
  2. Average weight loss when taking the injections once per week for 68 weeks is 20.9% of your total weight.
    • Without insurance, that’s over $16,000.00 you’ll spend to lose about 20% of your body weight over the time predicted to accomplish that goal.

You can find a ton of information online — including the risks and side effects. If you’re interested, you should do your own research and not listen to me… or anyone else… regurgitate the info.

Shots, pills, or even surgery isn’t cheating… it’s just doing whatever works for you.

If you need to lose weight — or even if you don’t — remember how important exercise is. Walk… and walk lots!

But don’t step on snakes. 😉

it's a snake!

Mr. Pesky saved me from certain snake bite death. Time for me to make an eye appointment, for sure. I thought it was a stick and he was trying to scare me.

Now you know: Jimmy Carter promised to release all government UFO information if he became president. However, after being elected, he chose not to, citing “national security concerns.”
