I have something going on every single day this week. Appointments for three different people (only 1 for me), and a visit from S&L for pricing and options for heating and air. Yesterday, I tried to relax and get in the right mindset to get through all that I don’t want to do. And I chased down all the pool floats that escaped with the recent storms.

Wounds… a bad back… teeth… and a huge chunk of change…
My stitches come out this morning so that’s a drive to Columbus. Mr. Pesky starts physical therapy and Mom starts the process of getting her teeth back in order. On my “free” day, I have a dude coming here to evaluate my options to replace the POS downstairs mini-split unit. That’s tomorrow.
One option is to go with the traditional furnace and air conditioning combo throughout the barndo. It would require a total new installation of ductwork (utilizing upstairs space) and would be great in the long run. The problem is, that would also require removing the current mini-split heads and covering up 8 holes in walls, painting, etc. This option is most expensive and a huge amount of work for me.
The second, and likely the best option, is to get a new mini-split unit for downstairs and a gas fireplace. I figure my estimates will be between $10K and $20K. Depressing… especially considering the unit that doesn’t work is less than 8 years old.
For the record, I’m still glad I bought this place.

Now you know: When infamous fraudster, Bernie Madoff, died, he was cremated (contrary to Jewish tradition) and his family refused to claim his ashes. They are currently sitting in a lawyer’s office.
