a gift idea that sticks: honey

Nov 16, 2025

This week, I received a gift in the mail. It wasn’t the standard berries, popcorn, or cookies gift either. It was not only a nice item, but also a great marketing tool. It came from speaker, David Horsager, and team. While I can’t tell you who sent those Mrs. Fields cookies last year, I can promise you I’ll remember who sent the honey this year.

Why it sticks… and why it would make a great a personal gift…

David is an expert on “trust” — his research is based upon the subject and he delivers his message via books and presentations on that topic. With a printed postcard inside the gift box, he tied his 8 pillars of trust to 8 little known facts about bees that exemplify each of those pillars. Choosing a thoughtful — and sticky product — with the idea of “trust that sticks” makes it memorable.

Honey would make a wonderful personal gift too, right? Who doesn’t like honey? A note with a sentiment like, “Let’s stick together—always.” or “thanks for sticking by me!” for a longtime friend — or even a play on honey’s sweetness like “you make life a little sweeter,” would work too. I’m sure you can think of something even better, but you get the idea.

You can buy this gift box at amesfarms.com. They also have DIY ideas for products that utilize beeswax (candles, wraps, etc.).

As you’re gearing up for the holiday season, put some thought into what you’re gifting.

If you’re like me, you have people on your holiday gift list that are harder to buy for. And no matter if you think about it or not — you’re a marketer too… you’re marketing yourself every single day. Put some extra thought into how you might make a gift — or even a holiday gathering — more memorable for friends and family.

Now you know: When temperatures drop, bees gather to shake and jiggle their wings to keep the hive at 90° F.
