When Ben was a youngster, he always wanted to know “how many sleeps” until he would get (or get to do) whatever it was that he deemed important at the time. After more snowfall yesterday — adding to what snow was dumped earlier that’s still hanging around — I need to know how many more sleeps until we have ‘normal’ winter.

I love snow, but these temps are brutal.
The snowfall yesterday wasn’t much, but it did coat the tree branches and left a sprinkling of the white stuff on top of what was already there. The frigid temperatures are the worst part though. It was -9° when I got up this morning, and will only reach the teens with windchill numbers too ugly to repeat.

Playing outside makes you sleepy.
Hugo LOVES the snow and he’s the instigator on going in and out every 5 minutes. He comes in crazy wild and zoomies all through the house. He then runs between the legs of whomever is standing and wants warm hands to cover his cold ears. Once that process is complete, he gets cozy on the couch and prepares to nap — it’s a cycle on repeat from daylight until around midnight.

So back to the question of day: How many sleeps until it warms up here?
If weather.com is correct, we’ll be barely above freezing in just a couple days… with rain. ARG!
Now you know: Over a 5-month period in 2020, a nurse in Yale’s fertility center stole the fentanyl in 175 vials that were meant for women who had a procedure to have their eggs retrieved. The nurse replaced the pain medication with saline solution, leaving the women in excruciating pain during the procedure.
