the best definition of stress i’ve ever come across

Mar 24, 2026

As I’m working on a new website for my favorite brother during my retirement phase, I was bugging around on AI and read an amazing quote. I was searching for the top 5 highest paid professional speakers that aren’t celebrities or political. The #1 person on the list was Simon Sinek who commands a whopping $400K for a keynote. An. Hour. Keynote.

I gotta’ take a closer look at this dude, me thinks.

And there it was… the quote that resonated with me hard…

“Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.”

Simon Sinek

Until it didn’t…

I work hard taking care of 3 dogs. It ain’t always easy, y’all. I love my dogs, but they aren’t my PASSION or anything. (Heck, I don’t know that I’m passionate about anything much.) My 3 hounds currently cause more stress than anything else I have going on in my life.

The only time I’m not working hard and am stress free is when they’re sleeping.

Hugo sleeps.

Now you know: Nearly 80% of US workers report that they have been victims of ‘career catfishing’ from employers. Which in this context, the term describes when a company misrepresents a job, their company culture, or compensation to lure in candidates.
