I recently read an article on WHAS channel 11’s website about Jeffrey Clark. He was one of two people wrongfully convicted of the satanic killing of Rhonda Warford in 1992 in Kentucky.
Both men were exonerated in 2018 when DNA disproved the convictions — but that was after Clark spent 22 years in prison. Here we are 34 years later, and a federal jury recently awarded him more than $24 million bucks.
It wasn’t just about the time lost…
Clark was just a kid of 19 when convicted, and his attorney claims he was framed. The jury obviously agreed.
Former Meade County, Kentucky, Coroner conspired with the sheriff — even using white-out on the death certificate so it didn’t correspond with Clark’s alibis. There were many other examples of egregious misconduct along the way by the prosecutor, detective Mark Handy, and other witnesses.
Go to jail at 19 and get out when you’re over 40… just wow!
Dharma says, “NO WAY! Not for any amount of money or dog treats!“

I simply can’t imagine spending decades in prison for something I didn’t do. I also can’t imagine getting $24M for it either.
There’s no way you can put a price on years lost — especially when the time is spent locked up. I hope the money helps enrich the years he has remaining on this earth.
To date, even with DNA evidence, there’s been no one charged for the stabbing death of Rhonda Sue Warford. At the time of her death, she was also only 19. There’s no reward for her loss of life, and that is incredibly unfair. 🙁
You can read more about the case on the Innocence Project’s website.
Now you know: In 2021, Detective Handy pled guilty to perjury and evidence tampering in the case of the murder of Rhonda Warford. He admitted that he taped over the recording of a witness statement in the prosecution of Mr. West and that he committed perjury at the trial of Mr. Chandler. He received a one-year sentence.
