I have a widget on my Mac desktop that lets me know how long it will be before it rains. If I’m at my desk, I pay attention so my hounds aren’t needing to go out when it’s storming. Believe it or not — it’s pretty accurate.
Yesterday’s rain left it steamy… misty… ⛈️
I guess that’s expected when the humidity is 76%.

Perry commented that it reminded him of a tropical rainforest. Of course, he’s never been to a tropical rainforest, so he’s no expert in that regard. The closest true tropical rainforest to southern Indiana is El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico, and that’s about 2,000 miles from the barndo.
I’d love to take a drive to explore Hemlock Cliffs in the Hoosier National Forest. It’s about an hour and 1/2 from here and they say the trail is easy to moderate. I’m guessing with my current back situation, that would translate into grueling and nearly impossible, but I’m working on it so maybe by fall?
In the meantime, you can read a review I found online about Hemlock Cliffs, and check out one more barndo view from yesterday below:

My rain gauge said we got 1 3/8 inches total.
It was gloomy for most of the day, and thunder rumbled almost constantly in the distance. It was a perfect day for a nap — and yes, I took advantage of that.
The gardens — as well as Mr. Farmer’s newly planted corn — appreciated the soft rain. My grass is gleefully growing by the second. I will not so gleefully have to mow once it dries up. Not sure what I slept through overnight, but my hanging baskets were on the ground when I got up this morning.
Now you know: The Maldives became the first country in the world to enforce a nationwide generational smoking ban, barring anyone born on or after January 1, 2007 from ever buying, using or smoking tobacco. The country already had a complete ban on vapes and e-cigarettes, regardless of age.
