Halloween sure looks different than it did years ago. No costumes to make, no trick-or-treating to supervise, and no worrying about how much candy my child could manage to eat before bedtime.
These days, my Halloween excitement consists of dressing up the dogs — digitally, of course.

Getting all three to sit still for a photo would require a miracle, and I’m fairly certain Hugo would have something to say about wearing a costume.
Merida, on the other hand, doesn’t need a costume to look terrifying.

Dharma would probably sleep through the whole thing.
Living in the country, we don’t get trick-or-treaters. Just three spoiled dogs, plenty of peace and quiet, and more Halloween candy than we actually need.
Come to think of it, that’s not a bad way to celebrate.
Happy Halloween! 🎃
Now you know: The tradition of carving jack-o’-lanterns originated in Ireland, where people originally carved turnips instead of pumpkins to ward off wandering spirits.
