Now it’s getting worse…

I went outside to inspect the work that was accomplished today by Tim Robbins, Jr.’s crew — the group that is back re-doing the outside paint from last year. I’ve posted about this before. You can view the other posts by clicking here and here.

What I found was more loose paint:

I called the Sherwin Williams headquarters and spoke with a very nice gentleman who told me that their district representative would contact me within 2 days. Two weeks later, I called Sherwin Williams back because no one had contacted me yet, and the same guy told me he would check in to the reason for the delay. About an hour later — their district person called.

He told me that SW would supply the materials to fix the paint that was coming off, and that someone from their company would be on site daily to make certain that the project was completed properly. Since that day, Tuesday, July 15th — I’ve not seen nor heard from Sherwin Williams again. The Robbins paint crew, including the owner, Tim, showed up on Wednesday morning and scraped a little (you can easily see how much they scraped because they left all the paint strips just laying around on the ground) — and even put a little bit of primer (or something) over most of the places they scraped. Today, two guys (Tim did not come) were dropped off here to paint. One of them told me they were painting the entire house again. The photo above is what I’m getting. It is truly getting worse!

Before the new painting project, there was no peeling paint on this house — check out the photo below and see for yourself! There was one small place on the front corner facing south where my renters hadn’t trimmed the shrub, and it had grown up the house and even under the down-spout. When the shrub was removed, there were small ‘picked’ places in the paint in that one area.

The photo below is a close-up of the ‘picked’ area that was taken June 07, right after the shrub was removed:

For whatever reason, not only is the Sherwin Williams paint peeling away, but when it does, it is pulling off the old paint on the skirl cedar siding that was fine — right down to the bare wood.

What I’m supposed to do now??
