True to form, I didn’t make resolutions this year, but I did set a goal. I’ve noticed that some of the goals I’ve set in the past have been these big ginormous inflated i-just-gotta-do-that ones. And, I failed to plan them with plateaus of successes in between. Drama and day-to-day distractions (oh yah, a bajillion emails and a phone that won’t stop ringing are a couple that come to mind), make it difficult to stay focused — and sometimes, I felt pulled in so many directions that I forgot what I was even supposed to be focusing on. And then, I would convince myself my goal wasn’t that important anyway and it really didn’t really matter. What a perfect excuse to give up. Sound familiar?
If you’re like me and didn’t do the whole resolution thing — I challenge you to set one goal. Make it specific, make sure it’s attainable and write it down. C’mon and join me in setting a goal this first day back to work of 2011 — and remember to first get focused, and then keep your eye on the prize. I even have a couple visuals to show you how it’s done…
