relaxation is who you are

Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are.

While some stress is good (the kind that is fun and exciting, and keeps us vital), ongoing stress that makes us tense is bad. There are tons of stress-influenced conditions our bodies can develop when tension and stress become a way of life — and studies estimate that as many as 90% of doctor’s visits are for symptoms that are at least partially stress-related!

It makes good sense to me that spending life trying to be what we think we SHOULD be, rather than spending life being who we really are is pretty crazy. Yah? Now I’m certainly not advocating that we put our feet up, relax and not aspire to be better today than we were yesterday — but am suggesting that we should all relax, focus more on what we CAN control, and less on what we CAN’T.
