Someone tweeted the above thought this morning and I wrote it down. That was totally the easy part. It’s a great thought though, isn’t it? We all want to attract opportunities! Some of us, however, aren’t really certain what skill we have mastered that is unique. What exactly is it that you can do that is different than what anyone else could do — so you attract the unique opportunity?
It was late this afternoon before I figured out that “every unique skill” can actually be a combined SKILL SET. Like a total package unique skill. Sort of. There’s no name for what I would consider to be my unique skill (skill set), but it is effective, and I’m ok with that. There are so very many things I can’t (nor will ever be able to) do. There are a bajillion things I can do, but not do well. But I CAN connect with a potential client (a stranger that I may never meet face-to-face), be friends with them shortly thereafter, go to contract, and set-up online offerings that they want after everything else is done. It’s not my goal to be center-stage…I like being behind the scenes. That’s where my best skills are.
So I challenge you to write down the thought, and figure out exactly what your unique skill (or skill set) might be. I don’t want you to miss even one awesome opportunity!
I’ve mentioned before that my son, Ben, is the worst person EVER to photograph because he’s ALWAYS making faces right when I snap a shot. If you think for a moment that is your unique skill — think again. Seriously. No one could do it better.
