Before I include a link that I would like for you to visit, I want to preface it by first telling you something that lies deep inside of me.
It’s evident that I love my dog. I basically love all dogs. It’s deeper than that though. No, this isn’t a sappy story about my dog being like my child. Here’s the deal — if a PERSON gets hurt, I know what to do and how to do it. I don’t panic — I take care of business. More than once I’ve been at the scene of an accident and have been very proud of the way I handled myself. If you get hurt or you’re sick and you’re human, you would want me there.
If you’re a dog — please don’t get hurt or sick around me. There’s something inside of me that simply shuts down and I can’t help it. For example — long ago my son’s dog (Feather — a shih tzu), that we had for over 13 years, collapsed in the front yard. She needed me to pick her up and hold her but I couldn’t. I ran inside and called my Mom and Carl to help me get her to the vet. When Buster hit our lab, Sara, with the wrecker, I ran inside the house fast as I could, slammed the door and cried. Sara is on seizure medication, but on the rare occasion that she seized — do you think I could comfort her no matter how badly I want to? Nope. Not me.
So the link I’m going to post here was very difficult for me to read, and I honestly didn’t watch any of the videos included therein. Still, I want to do something to ensure that this doesn’t happen to another pet. I have come to believe the following as truths in my life:
- If you are willing to work hard enough for something, you can achieve it.
- One person can make a difference.
