I used to work normal business hours. That’s changed. But, I used to have a child that had to eat at regular times, have help with homework, and always had friends over. Still, somehow I managed to get (pretty much) everything done.
Lately, my weekends are filled with laundry, housework and all the other things that I don’t have time to touch throughout the week. I remember the time I looked forward to weekends, but not so much anymore. My flowerbeds desperately need weeded. One of my bathrooms is crying for paint. The garage? Don’t even go there.
George Bernard Shaw is credited with saying, “youth is wasted on the young.” I don’t really believe that. There’s no way I could keep up today with everything I did just a few short years ago. I can’t remember how the heck I did it!
Ole’ George B. did come up with some other thoughts that I can relate to. I hope you enjoy reading them, and I hope they inspire you to do great things today!
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them”
“People always get tired of one another. I grow tired of myself whenever I am left alone for ten minutes, and I am certain that I am fonder of myself than anyone can be of another person.”
I figure if my Mom can throw some seeds on a pile of dirt and end up with a view like this… the possibilities for the rest of us are endless. =)
