Tomorrow I hope to share photos of Perry’s clan — lots of new faces, different landscapes and probably even some food. But today, I want to share a photo that I didn’t take — and two that I did.
The person in your family or circle of friends that takes the majority of photos is also the one with very few photos of themselves. That’s fine by me and I’m not complaining, but when Carl picked up my camera and snapped a shot of me and Mom, I was pretty happy even though I look like ass pretty awful. He’d never even tried to take a photo with anything other than a point & shoot, so here’s proof that ANYONE can create a photo memory. I guess the reason I think it’s ok to share is because I don’t know of one other photo I have of just me and my Mom. It doesn’t even matter that it’s not all that flattering of either one of us — it’s still a keeper.
I hear quite often that my son, Ben, looks like me. I’ve posted here about it before and how I just don’t see it. But when I pulled photos off the camera’s card tonight I thought (for the first time) poor kid does have some of my traits. His hair is long (he’s soon to get a haircut but keeps putting if off because he’s trying to find a great photo of Barry from Storage Wars to take along) and is close in color to mine (unless he also decides to go with Barry’s color). It’s no secret where his brown eyes originated. They tilt down on the outsides exactly like my Dad’s.
And because you should never put something off until tomorrow when you can share it today… especially when it’s beautiful…
