Looks like it’s going to be The Lincoln Lawyer, (by Michael Connelly) for me. The problem is… I simply MUST get loyal to ONE reader — which doesn’t really seem fair since you BUY an electronic version of whatever book you choose. Doesn’t it seem like when you pick a book, there would be a standard format to download that would work on all readers, and you could choose to put the book you purchase on any reader you want? That isn’t the case.
Yes, I can use the iPad’s Nook and B&N apps and read books purchased from either source right on the iPad — but I can’t put Kindle books (mobi format) on the Nook, and I can’t put Nook books (ePub format) on the Kindle. I’m not sure which of the two I want to marry since it sure feels like a shotgun wedding. Wonder how long it will be before Amazon and B&N stop focusing on the PRODUCT instead of the USER EXPERIENCE. In the meantime — it’s just one more reason why everyone should buy an iPad. Go Apple!
(Ok, so I didn’t mention that if you purchase books through the Apple book store, you can’t view them on the Nook or Kindle. Your point?)
