Guess what, you guys!
Christmas Eve and we have SNOW!! Yes. We have a little bit of the white stuff… enough to make it a white Christmas. Yay!

Merry Christmas Eve!
I’m one of those people who has a Christmas tree decorated with a hodgepodge of memories. My main family tree is adorned with old and dated ornaments — and to this imperfect collection, I’ve added one every year since my son, Ben, was born.
Since my granddaughter, Colette, was born, the collection has changed from boyish selections to primarily pink, frilly ones, but I keep right on collecting and putting them on the tree year after year.
My son remains unimpressed, and that’s ok because Colette proclaimed, while fingering the ornaments one by one, that her Nana has the best Christmas tree EVER. I’m not sure she’s even noticed the other tree — a modern, pencil shaped one covered in only silver and gold with matching ribbon and more that is Ben’s preference.
Here’s hoping I have about 40 more years of collecting junky ornaments and at least one of them will someday have a place on my granddaughter’s holiday tree.
My trip to the oral surgeon was uneventful — easy peasy and no big deal. Just hanging out now waiting to heal up so I can move forward to the next procedure. Yay!
The kitchen got painted, too. Can’t lie — I ended up hiring someone to paint the ceiling. I simply didn’t have it in me to finish up. No photos yet because I’ve been doing the unthinkable!
Yes, I’m that annoying person that decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving. Don’t judge me… I couldn’t help myself.
Nothing outside yet — no lights or decorations — so no one knows but me and you.
Although it’s not FELT like Christmas this year (we didn’t get to have our family gathering until the 26th, those pesky neighbors are in Florida, AND it’s been a rainy 60-65 degree weekend), it’s still in the books. Even though it didn’t feel like Christmas, it DID feel like FAMILY and that’s ok with me too. Sure did seem like most of the love centered around a little 5-year old girl with messy hair this year.
Oh… and one girl with 4 legs and lots of hair…
I’m packing today for a Florida trip — off to see Mikey Mouse, Polly Purebred, and Leo the Lion.
No name tags this year… just photos on the packages. Yes, it was easy and yes, I’ll probably do it again next year!
