i noticed it and now you have to see it too

I currently take ZERO prescriptions but I know a whole lot of people who require them — some with a laundry list of drugs taken on the regular. With the release of the Trump RX website, I couldn’t help but check it out.

The White House Should Hire ME!

I know this isn’t a big deal for everyone, but as a person that started developing websites before it was cool, there’s one thing about the new government website that’s a pretty darned big disappointment for me. The official site, trumprx.gov, is a government domain that lists discounted cash-pay prices for dozens of prescription drugs.

Here’s the oversight: Given how dominant “.com” is in people’s minds, and the fact that Trump himself referred to the site as TrumpRX.com twice, why on earth would there not be a redirect set up from trumprx.com to trumprx.gov?? Currently, it’s nothing but a blank page when the .com version of the URL is entered into a browser.

That’s an amateur mistake in my book.

It takes about a minute to set-up a redirect. Purchasing multiple versions of a domain and using redirects is standard for people and companies that don’t want their visitors hijacked. Redirects ensure you capture anyone trying to find you and send them where they should be. It’s basic shit, y’all.

So TrumpRX.gov was designed and engineered in D.C. by National Design Studio so I follow that link and find their claim to be leading the America by Design initiative — working to improve how Americans experience their government – online, in person, and the spaces in between. A prominent top link on this site says it’s “by Executive Order.” So I click that link too. It goes to a August 2025 page about improving our nation through better design.

If the government truly wants “better design,” they need to hire better DESIGNERS.

The website is visually clean and easy to navigate. Using a pill for the period and the play on words (rewriting the script) is clever. But don’t talk about improving the experience “in the spaces in between” if you’re not delivering just that on such a basic level.

Now you know: The Chief Design Officer of the National Design Studio is Airbnb co-founder, Joe Gebbia. He’s also on the board of Tesla. 🤨

have you noticed — and do you understand why?

have you noticed — and do you understand why?

In my untrained estimation, my favorite teen granddaughter primarily has conservative viewpoints. We spent hours discussing world problems and one thing she said stuck out to me:

I’m afraid to voice my opinions.

road trip

Of course, not only does that piss me off, it also causes me wonder how we got to that point in the U.S. in the first place. And then I realized I also stay quiet (except for here) when I’m faced with those who hold a different opinion than I do on most every issue. I’m one of those “YOU DO YOU” people, but I’ll admit I’m fed up.

Not all liberals feel fearless, and not all conservatives stay quiet — but studies consistently show conservatives report higher fear of speaking openly.

There’s a difference between, “I disagree with you,” and “What you believe makes you a bad person.” Sadly, many conservatives stay quiet because the second reaction has become more common. Think of this… speaking out feels safer when you expect applause rather than punishment.

light in snow

basically, it’s cultural power VS political power…

It’s a fact (per Gemini, Grok, ChatGPT, & a bajillion other sources) that even when conservatives hold political offices or win elections, liberals often hold more cultural power—in education, entertainment, media, nonprofits, and tech platforms. Cultural power shapes what feels “acceptable” to say out loud. Conservatives (who often value tradition and social harmony) are less likely to “poke the bear,” whereas activists on the left may view vocalizing their stance as a moral duty, regardless of the friction it causes.

Politics has merged with identity — political views are no longer opinions, they’re often treated as reflections of character and morality. You’ve seen it too if you’re on any social media platform. “If you voted for Trump just unfriend me now.Is that the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard of? That would be like me saying, “If you eat the green M&M’s don’t come back to whatifitdid.com.” 🙄

I WANT to hear why you believe what you believe… but I don’t want you protesting inside of churches, accosting congregations as they depart a place of worship, or spitting on anyone. Once you resort to that, your chance of helping me understand your position is gone.

I can’t single-handedly change the national temperature — neither can you.

What we CAN do is model calm disagreement. I’m open to disagreement, but not being treated like I’m immoral for wanting laws enforced. Cultural climates don’t change through shouting—they change when reasonable people refuse to become caricatures.

Now you know: Before 9/11, US airports were public social hubs where you could walk to the gate, eat at food courts, and watch planes without a ticket or ID.

never argue with a man that buys ink by the gallon

never argue with a man that buys ink by the gallon

Many wordsmiths have been credited with the saying, “never argue with a man that buys ink by the gallon,” but I heard it first from our smalltown newspaper’s owner and journalist. But thinking back — and having read The Crothersville Times forever — I don’t remember him taking sides on issues even though I’m 100% positive he had opinions on a whole lot of things he reported on.

It’s not that way anymore — not the ink nor the reporting. You now have social media influencers with great outreach and they don’t adhere to ethics or fair reporting. Once reputable media outlets now cross lines of fairness and unbiased reporting is lost. I was happy to see the arrest of Don Lemon. No matter which side of the political arena you stand on, that was wrong. It was a church and he obviously had an agenda.

And the score is… Jesus – 1 : Don Lemon – 0

Fact checking is a thing of the past and AI is boss.

Take for example, MS NOW (formerly MSNBC). They used an AI-enhanced version of Alex Pretti’s portrait sourced from the internet in their reporting. If the dude looks more wholesome, ICE agents look more sinister, I guess?

AI was also on full display to garner support on the Senate floor. Democratic U.S. Senator Dick Durbin used an AI-generated image during a speech relating to the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti that he sourced from the Internet. Durbin thought it was real… even though one of the ICE agents had no head. (Does his assistant hate him? Durbin wasn’t the one at Kinko’s getting a big ole’ print made.) Claiming “the photo tells the story,” he didn’t realize how right he was on that.

Not facts — manipulation. And I’m not even going to go there with Vogue’s manipulated photo of Ariana Grande — they think people are so stupid they wouldn’t notice she had 6 fingers on one hand? Good grief!

Website hacked and I’m even ok with that.

As a person that’s worked creating websites for years, I detest hacking. But doxxing is wrong. It’s never ok to publicly share another person’s private information (like their home address, phone number, or workplace) online to harass, threaten, or endanger them. That’s why when the website whose claim to fame is the biggest compilation of ICE agent data was hacked, I wasn’t sorry to hear of it.

The hackers even left a message for its visitors. (Currently, it’s showing a 404 error — yes, I looked.)

Right about now you may be thinking that my opinions above are merely political. But I promise you, they’re not. It’s common sense really…

  1. I want to formulate my own opinions based upon facts.
  2. Doxxing people doing their job — no matter if you agree with what they’re doing or not — endangers them and others. Stop that shit.
  3. Churches are off limits. Protest outside if you want, but don’t disrupt worship.

And finally, on a personal level…

I can’t imagine living anyplace near where protesters are playing band instruments and blowing rape whistles 24/7. Instead of peacefully chilling, all 3 of my dogs would be flipping their ever lovin’ shit.

relaxing Dharma

Now you know: In the U.S., protesting inside a church service is not protected by the First Amendment. Churches are private property and there are laws that prohibit intentionally disrupting religious worship.

do all politicians lack basic common sense?

do all politicians lack basic common sense?

I’ve never been political and I’m not going to start now, but good grief, people! When you have a bunch of politicians having pissing contests, isn’t it the people that are going to suffer?

Tim Walz needs help formulating media posts.

Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz, released the message below just yesterday. It’s likely one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen… especially in light of what’s going on in his state. The transition from appealing to Trump to criticizing him (“that’s what he wants”) blurred the line between de-escalation and a political attack.

In high-stakes situations like this, purely unifying language would work better, wouldn’t it? I assume the goal of this message was to reduce tensions, keep protests peaceful, reassure Minnesotans, and pressure federal leadership to avoid harsher federal responses that could escalate conflict. If so, it sucked out loud.

Even though I am 100% for deportation, I could get behind a message of unity. Instead, the plea from Walz pissed me off and makes me want to go protest the protesters in Minnesota. 🫤

Why not something like this instead?

Minnesota needs partnership and calm right now. I’ve asked President Trump and the federal government to turn down the temperature and work with us to protect lives and restore order. Peaceful protest is a fundamental right—but violence, vandalism, and threats to public safety must stop. I’m calling on all Minnesotans to reject violence and come together to move our state forward.

Now I need to come up with a deescalation plan for the barndo.

It’s time I figure out a way to reduce tension at the backyard bird feeder. It’s far from peaceful out there and the pressure from woodpeckers against the redbirds, finches, and titmice is about to result in harsher measures that might escalate the conflict. 😉

woodpecker at the feeder

And finally, our outside wood boiler has been repaired & Mom is colorful!

The pump for the outdoor boiler had something wrong that was replaced (dude told me what it was but I don’t recall what he said), the water was checked and inhibiter was added. We’re good to go. The mini-splits kept it warm inside, but it’s sure nice to be back to normal again.

My Momma is sporting all kinds of spring colors even though snow has been forecasted for our area. Both of her eyes are open and her retinas are intact. All that’s left is continued healing and lectures about being more careful. 🩷

Mom is colorful

Now you know: Hairy Tongue is where your papillae overgrow and trap bacteria causing smells and stains on the tongue. Coffee, tea, and tobacco are the most common culprits and it can be avoided with good oral hygiene.

common sense and the epstein files

common sense and the epstein files

EDIT — White House just released this: Where is Democrats’ Transparency on Epstein?

So much controversy surrounding those darned Epstein files! The issue is complicated by legal, political, and ethical considerations, and the lack of transparency fuels ongoing debate. It should be obvious at this stage that downplaying the issue isn’t going to make it disappear. So why keep doing just that?

Regular people — and dogs — are left to speculate.

Hugo in deep thought.

Apply common sense and it still is senseless.

If the Epstein files had anything in them horribly revealing about Trump, I figure the Democrats would have already put the details in play — likely before the election. Putting myself in Trump’s position, if there’s truly is nothing damning within whatever files there are, I’d have demanded their release yesterday. It’s no surprise Democrats are using the lack of transparency to deflect from other political issues. Can you blame them?

I understand that no president, including Trump, has the unilateral power to unseal the Epstein files due to federal court orders and judicial oversight. These files are under strict legal protections, and federal judges have blocked efforts to release certain documents, such as grand jury transcripts, citing state guidelines and the need to maintain confidentiality. But when he tells Pam Bondi to research the files for Democrat connections but not his own?

Even Hugo thinks that’s fishy, y’all.

Hugo thinks it's fishy.

Controlled Narrative and Public Perception…

Then we find out that Epstein was being counseled by The NY Times and was coaching Democratic members of Congress. So there’s that… and it’s fishy too. I’m still incredibly put off by the initial BS show Republicans put on with “The Epstein Files: Phase 1.” So dumb to make a production out of nothing by pretending to give social media influencers grit with the promise of more.

And just as I was typing my thoughts about this, Trump posted about it! In the middle of all the blah blah blah, he says that House Republicans should vote to release Epstein files:

Trump's post about Epstein

Does Trump really not care — or does he already have a good idea what the outcome of the U.S. House of Representatives vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act (H.R.4405) on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 will be?

A 2025 PBS News/NPR/Marist poll found that about 75% of Americans support the release of all Epstein-related files, driven by widespread suspicion that the government is withholding information to protect high-profile figures. The plea deal (18 months in jail but allowed to leave 12 hours a day/6 days a week) was secretive and favorable to Epstein. Arrested again in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges, the earlier case’s leniency became a focal point for public outrage and legal challenges. It wasn’t until after he died that a federal judge ruled the non-prosecution agreement from 2008 had breached victims’ rights.

So now we see what happens next. I’m going to remember that what anyone says can be truth or a lie. Anything a person says can also be twisted around to fit any narrative. Same applies to anything you put in writing. I’m going to use common sense when (if) the Epstein files are released. I hope you do the same.

Let the chips fall where they may. 🫣

Truth and transparency are essential tools to end human trafficking and prevent future exploitation.
