Have y’all noticed that Gene Simmons has the exact same facial expression in every photo he’s ever had taken? I wonder how many hours he’s spent in front of the mirror over the years perfecting it.
It’s become his natural resting face because it stays the same during every pause from speech — as evidenced by his recent “shut your pie hole” message to celebrities.
Do you have a perfected “face” you use for photos?
For the record, I agree 100% with what he says. You?
Can you? And if so, you probably believe it to be true. 🙂
Interesting data regarding what states Americans moved to or from in 2025.
I saw a similar image shared on social media and recognized some data I just knew had to be fabricated. So I asked ChatGPT to recreate it with correct information. Not sure why I find this interesting, but I do. Of course, if people were leaving Indiana the way they’re vacating California, I probably wouldn’t have shared it.
Now you know: O’possum babies are honeybee sized at birth and they are blind, deaf, have no fur, and are barely formed. The 12-13 day pregnancy is the shortest of any mammal in North America.
Tonight’s dinner was salad. It was a good salad… but still salad. Because Perry doesn’t like the good stuff in his salad, I have to keep everything separate. He’s also the reason for homemade ranch dressing. Picky! Picky!
Saw the images below and had zero trouble choosing…
Now you know: When bilingual people switch languages mid-sentence, their brain doesn’t even notice the switch. NYU researchers found that the brain uses the same mechanism to combine words regardless of whether they come from one language or two, meaning code-switching is neurologically seamless.
Shake up your brain and answer the following question that will likely tell your age — but in my case, maybe not. 🙂
Step into the wayback machine and tell us…
What’s the first major news story you remember as a kid?
My Momma’s first memory was the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 12, 1945. Of course, in 1945 news wasn’t delivered the same as it is now, so it’s understandable that she would be 13 at the time of her first major news memory. She also remembers Joe Louis’s fights being broadcast on the radio in the 30’s because my Pap-pa always listened to them.
Mr. Pesky remembers when the Dodgers won the World Series for the 1st time on 10/4/55. Although my favorite brother was born in 1954, he probably remembers that too — he was 110% more in tune with news as a kid than I was. 😉
During my childhood, news also wasn’t delivered like it is now. Still, I don’t recall a time we didn’t have a TV in the living room, so I can’t fall back on that as an excuse. My first memory is from the year I graduated. Good grief — I was sheltered.
It’s amazing that I can even remember what I ate over the weekend.
All the major news stories listed are within my lifetime:
A couple of these I was too young to remember… but others I SHOULD remember and I don’t.
I don’t remember the Cuban Missile Crisis — 10/16/62
I don’t remember JFK being assassinated — 11/22/63
I don’t remember the moon landing — 7/20/69 (but I should)
I DO remember the death of Elvis — 8/16/77
I don’t remember the death of John Wayne — 6/11/79 (this is Perry’s first memory)
I DO remember the eruption of Mount St. Helens – 5/18/80
I DO remember the Challenger exploding — 1/28/06
I DO remember police chasing OJ — 3/17/94
I absolutely remember 9/11
So what about you? What’s the 1st major news story YOU remember?
Now you know: Cows have over 800 blood types (compared to humans’ 8).
I often wonder what Hugo thinks I am to him. Am I his human? The alpha dog of the pack? The one that controls food and outside access? Oh! If dogs could only talk for 24-hours, this little dude would have so much to say!
If I’m gone for 30-minutes — or even if he’s shut in a different part of the house from me at times we have visitors — he acts like he hasn’t seen me for months the second he gains access. What does he think happens during those short and infrequent intervals?
Are ALL rescue dogs needy and clingy?
Gracie is the only other dog I’ve adopted — and the owner pushed her into our car with a kick. She had similar issues for the 13 years we had her. Her fears and quirks were embedded into her psyche until the day she died.
Along comes Hugo and I’m pretty sure his childhood (puppyhood?) was pretty darned awful. He’s never chewed up a single thing. He was easy to housebreak. He quivers when strangers are here and he must be watched because he will bite — but he refuses to “play bite” like every other dog I’ve owned. If he decides to bite, there’s blood involved — it’s not a play tactic.
He’s stuck to me 24/7.
If you have a pet, what would they say about you?
Now you know: McDonald’s is estimated to have spent $300m on the research, production & marketing for the Arch Deluxe. Despite having the largest advertising & promotional budget in fast food history at the time, it failed to become popular. It’s considered one of the most expensive product flops of all time.
Typically, I scroll right on past all the gaslighting BS on social media. But something caught my eye that was successful in offending even me! In light of the Epstein files, all sorts of organizations are under a microscope. What I saw was saying “X” (as in formerly Twitter), is derived from the connection on the bottom of the Masonic square/compass — along with the implication that Masons are satan worshippers who prey on little girls — Rainbow for Girls — and drink blood.
That’s the craziest bunch of horse shit I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s my opinion the only negative aspect to Masonic organizations is that dogs aren’t allowed.
Social media algorithms love sensational content.
I was in Rainbow some 50 years ago and can still vividly remember experiences like they happened yesterday. ALL POSITIVE.
I remember advancing through the stations before becoming Worthy Advisor (like the president of an organization):
Faith emphasizes that faith (in a higher power, in yourself, and in others) is a constant companion that guides and strengthens you.
Hope focuses on the idea that hope is always present, even in tough times—a light to guide you forward.
Charity teaches the importance of charitable deeds, kindness, and helping others selflessly.
Dad kept his Masonic Bible in a white box yellowed with age (that I have now) that my Pap-pa, Noah Garriott, signed inside. Pap-pa celebrated 50 years as a Mason — and Mr. Pesky is nearing his 50th year… his initiation was on Pap-pa’s 50th year. I still remember the words Raymond Rigsby said to me during my initiation. Again, ALL POSITIVE.
The negative references you see on social media rarely come from people with direct, personal involvement.
The things I learned as a part of this organization — like respect, being kind, presenting yourself with confidence, and so much more — I have carried with me throughout my life. Rainbow for Girls in Crothersville, Indiana, ended each meeting with a song. I still find myself silently singing it as I crawl in bed at night.
If I have wounded any soul today, If I have caused one foot to go astray, If I have walked in my own will full way – Dear Lord, forgive!
Now you know: In the 1820s U.S., the disappearance of William Morgan (who threatened to expose Masonic secrets) sparked the Anti-Masonic Party—the country’s first major third party—and widespread panic about Masonic influence in courts, politics, and society.
