ONE.
Laundry. Laundry is something you will never complete. The very instant you proudly hang up that last clean item of clothing from the dryer, you turn around and the dirty clothes basket has new items in it.
TWO.
Making beds. Every single day I make my bed although no one but me even knows it. Those of you with pets (like me) know this chore is twice as likely to make you lose your mind because it’s near impossible to do with “help.”
Even worse when said ‘helper’ just came in from outside… where it’s raining.

What a weekend! After a week of frigid temps, today it warmed up to above 60°F. When a snow covered yard is introduced to warm air and a bit of sun, the melted precipitation makes some pretty spectacular mud. Said mud is great fun for puppies, but sure do leave a mess in the house.
Dogs are a pain.
But at least my puppies didn’t run away this weekend… like Ben & Colette’s dog, Wanwan. Just out for a moment before bed, at around 1:30 AM this morning, she disappeared. I figured she was dead. 🙁
Some impressive investigative tactics by my ex-daughter-in-law and Wanwan was picked up this afternoon at the Humane Society. Someone found her blocks away (no clue how the 12 year-old and partially blind Chihuahua got there) and took her in. After an Arby’s roast beef and a bath to get rid of the ‘horse poop’ smell, she slept the rest of the day away.
Dogs are a pain.
But we sure do love them! Enough to clean up muddy prints 200 times a day, give them a bath and buy them an Arby’s sandwich.

I’m in my 50’s and my brother is in his 60’s. We’ve each had our picture taken at least a bajillion times over the past 30 years or so. Imagine my surprise when I recently found the photos below holding the most prominent spot in our Mom’s wallet:
I have no idea if the photo of Scott is from the same year as the photo of me — but both were taken a minute ago. The photo of Ben with the Easter Bunny is now about 30 years old.
As parents, our kids will always be our kids. I know this because my Mom still refers to me as the “baby” of the family. While that used to drive me crazy, I use it now as payback for all the things my OLDER brother did to me growing up.

I could care less about politics. I get so sick and tired of the negative FB posts aimed at both parties I could scream. I don’t care how much you hate the POTUS, the constant name calling is ugly. Obama isn’t president anymore so why attack him?
I can’t even remember if I voted for George H.W. Bush, but I still watched George W. Bush give the most touching eulogy for him. I cried. I thought about the death of my own father and how I could never, EVER, do that. Bawling just listening to someone I’ve never met give a eulogy for someone else I’ve never met is a pretty good indicator that role is better filled by someone else. Ole’ Jeb and I are in the same boat on that one — good thing we have brothers.

Y’all have anyone that does this when told to smile?
I wanted to post this on Facebook to wish my favorite brother a happy birthday with a PS that I told Perry his age. But I was scared of the repercussions.
A wonderful day visiting Perry’s family was only tarnished by road construction EVERYWHERE. The additional hour of drive time had the puppies thinking they were abandoned and would never eat again. But the leaves sure were pretty…
