Dharma holds the belief that she is inherently deserving of privileges and special treatment. I know that description is pretty much the definition of entitlement — but it’s not just that. It’s more about the attitude. Dharma makes it impossible for anyone to ignore her because of her ‘I am the princess’ behavioral patterns.

Gracie, on the other hand, is totally the opposite. She is grateful for everything. No matter what it is… treats, food, love… she’s appreciative and submissive.

Sadly, the lesson here is that the squeaky wheel DOES get the grease. And, if you don’t make what it is you want in life known, you might just miss out on opportunities — and be forced to steal someone else’s pink bunny. Life sucks like that.

My favorite sister-in-law gave me a ‘Dammit Doll.’ She picked it up while on an excursion with Scott because she (a) thought I needed something to take my frustrations out on (b) thought I would find it amusing.
This camouflage dude with orange-spiked yarn hair has had a rough morning. The dammit doll needs a dammit doll, you guys.

Whenever things don’t go so well,
And you want to hit the wall and yell,
Here’s a little dammit doll,
That you can’t do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs
And find a place to slam it.
And as you whack the stuffing out,
Yell “DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT!”

I have some random thoughts to close the week but will begin with #FacebookFriday — you remember, it’s where I share the best/worst thing I noticed on Facebook throughout the week…

Personally, I can’t imagine even THINKING about Facebook during an emergency situation or if I was in the back of an ambulance — much less posting for prayers during the ride. That’s right — taking out your phone and typing (or talking to Siri I guess) while bouncing around in the back of an ambulance with an EMT at your side on the way to the emergency room of a hospital. I read a bit later this sweet lady made it to the hospital, so who am I to judge?
STUFF YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT:
You’ve probably all heard of Periscope by now and maybe you’re even sharing. I never miss video of a favorite relative’s little one at dance class — and Scott McKain has some interesting shares as well (you can see replays at http://createdistinction.com). But I’d not heard of Blab until yesterday. Have you checked it out?
Per Blab — it’s all about watching (and participating in) live discussions. “The internet’s most interesting interviews, talk shows, casual hangouts, debates, discussions, and live workshops in one place.” Where does one find the time for all this social media stuff, you guys? My job keeps me tethered to the computer and I still don’t have hours upon hours for it.
And finally… puppies are evil. Just sayin’…

I can’t believe I’m sharing this photo of me, but you’re supposed to be able to laugh at yourself… right?
Craving a new pair of frames, I thought I’d check out Warby Parker because they stalk me on every site I visit (gotta’ love ad tracking!). Because you order their glasses online and can’t try them on like you might at your friendly neighborhood optometrist’s office, they offer a virtual try-on experience. Very cool.
The frames I chose are clear, but in the virtual try-on image they look like a lovely pair of swimming goggles. For the record, I couldn’t commit to the $300 bucks based on this photo, but I might get brave and choose something else.
If you, too, need a pair of prescription glasses and would like them to look like you’re wearing swimming goggles, put your hair behind your ears, fire up your computer’s camera and try it out for yourself! Just know if you visit the site one time you’ll see their ad every time you visit Facebook.

Just a couple things to share that were shared with me first…
Item #1 was posted on Facebook by a friend that recently lost her brother to cancer. She explained, “This amazing credo, written by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, was found on my brother Clint’s desk, taped close — so that it was never far from his sight. He lived this.” I’m pretty sure we should all try to do the same:
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is a sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
Item #2 was shared by my favorite brother. Once upon a time he told me to watch No Country for Old Men. I HATED it. But then he hit a home run when he suggested I watch The Blacklist. I LOVE, LOVE the series — and James Spader is amazing!. (If you missed this one — you can catch up on Netflix.) So when he said I needed to listen to some podcast I’ll admit I didn’t jump right on it. Not a huge fan of podcasts, (I’m a visual person and sadly, and not the best listener on the planet) I balked before I gave in. You might do the same, but try a couple episodes of Serial anyway. You’ll thank me later.
