Well, the vacation is rapidly approaching. I admit, I am starting to get a little bit excited. Here’s a photo from my last cruise…

I’ve been on a ton of cruises in the past, but never without my favorite cousin, Jerilyn. We’ve sailed with family, we’ve sailed with friends, and we’ve sailed just the two of us. Jerilyn isn’t going along this time, and I miss her already.

I’m just coming up for air. We’re crazy busy in the office, and of course with summer comes a ton of outside work calling my name as well. My car looks like someone lives in it (a very messy someone who doesn’t know how to even toss fast food sacks out) and the sidewalks still haven’t been swept after the yard finally got mowed between rainy days. More coming soon…don’t lose hope…

Something happened today that I can’t stop thinking about. The issue was personal and not something I can discuss publicly — even though I would like nothing better than to rant away about how much it pissed me off and hurt my feelings. Sometimes people you think at least have integrity, stoop to some pretty low places when money comes into play.
The issue I was faced with this morning did bring out the ole’ 10-10-10 rule. You know…will the consequences of my actions (no matter which decision I choose to make) matter in 10 minutes? 10 months? 10 years?
For me and this particular irritant, it will absolutely matter in 10 minutes! It will only matter in 2 months if I stay pissed (there’s not so much money involved that I will starve either way), it’s not going to matter in 10 months — and will be totally forgotten in 10 years.
Sometimes it’s better to simply not waste energy on issues that only impact you in the short-term scheme of things. I prefer to instead concentrate my efforts in a forward motion, and that’s what I’m going to do. Watch me go!

Who would’ve thought I’d be complaining about being cold when it’s 65 degrees outside. How easy it is to forget winter when you can see this by simply peeking out the window in front of you.

And as I’m working this crisper than yesterday (and hopefully tomorrow) day, I’m also trying out an alternative to TweetDeck. Seesmic doesn’t have the cool dark gray interface, but it allows me to post and read tweets and FaceBook status updates all in one place. So far I’m diggin’ it.
And while I’m on the whole social networking thing today — DoYouPoken? Would you consider it?

As if just being a Monday isn’t bad enough… I dumped a whole cup of last night’s coffee right in the middle of my office chair. Well, not exactly. I had swapped my chair for Perry’s over the weekend. My chair is leather – his is suede. Of course I didn’t fill a leather chair with coffee — that would be too easy.
