Up Close and Personal

Fuzzy photos, the blinding glare of flash…it’s easy to recognize all the signs of a poor photo (my all-time favorite is the famous listing on eBay where you could see the naked photographer in the reflection of the mirror he was trying to sell. Funny stuff!) Not everyone appreciates the same photo techniques, but it’s still fun to dabble with different settings and subjects.

For example…macro photography…
Macro lenses are awesome, but most are extremely expensive (the one I want is a whopping $3900 bucks), but you can get extraordinary shots with just a standard 0.4m/1.3ft 35-80mm lens. Try it out! You might even surprise yourself when you pull YOUR photos off to the computer and take a gander. Get up close and personal and don’t sweat it — it’s really not that difficult. All you have to do is put some thought into it, and in certain cases — be able to bend like a pipe cleaner.
